We are a local church located near the heart of Garland, Texas, serving our community across the street and around the world. As a multi-cultural, Baptist church, we welcome all to be a part of fellowship here as we seek to reflect our Heavenly Kingdom. We welcome you to come be a part of our Sunday service! You’ll find dynamic, Bible-based preaching and a uniquely blended worship program playing music for all generations and led by our talented choir and orchestra.
Wednesday is a great time for connection and fellowship here at Lavon Drive!
At 6:15 P.M., children in grades 3 – 6 are invited to participate in Praise Kids! Praise Kids is our children’s Worship Arts Program, where children learn to worship God with their voices, their talents, and with their lives.
At 6:30 P.M., our Student Ministry meets for fellowship before their time of worship at 7:00 P.M. Your student will grow spiritually as they are taught by Pastor John Mark and have a great time with their peers!
At 7:00 P.M., children in grades Pre-K – 6 will have the opportunity to be a part of our AWANA program. AWANA is where they’ll receive biblical training and have a lot of fun at the same time.
Conveniently located just off Highway 78, when you pull on campus for the first time there will be guest parking spaces clearly labeled and available close to the highway entrances.
When you arrive on campus, our Connect Crew team will be greeting people at the entrances and will be more than happy to show you to our Children’s Ministry area and help you get into the service.
A visit to Lavon Drive is like coming home to family! You will be welcomed, encouraged, strengthened, and empowered by biblical teaching, God-honoring worship, and genuine fellowship. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Arrive at least 15-20 minutes before service time, especially if you have children. If you’re a first-time guest, we recommend going straight to the Welcome Center, located in the front lobby across from Awaken Coffee House, where one of our Connect Crew volunteers will be happy to guide you to the right place! They can also assist you with checking in your children and getting them to the right room where they’ll spend the worship service in a safe and secure environment enjoying great activities and teaching.

Robby Greene began his ministry at Lavon Drive in 1997, as a pastoral intern, eventually moving into the role of Children’s and Bus Pastor as well as Assistant Pastor. Upon the retirement of Dr. Gary Coleman, who pastored the church for nearly 50 years, Pastor Robby became the Interim Senior Pastor and in October of 2014, was elected as the new Senior Pastor of the church. Pastor Robby and his wife Heather have been married since 1998. Heather teaches preschool Sunday School, serves on the Children’s Ministry administrative staff, and teaches third grade at Garland Christian Academy. The Greenes have two children, Matt and Julia, who both attend Garland Christian Academy. In his spare time, Pastor Robby enjoys landscaping, model railroading, riding his motorcycle, and dining out with his family.
Our desire is that each service at Lavon Drive is an authentic experience of worship where you have the opportunity to commune with God in the company of other Christians and walk away having gleaned life-changing principles from God’s Word. Our time of corporate worship begins with a powerful music set led by our Adult Choir and Orchestra. Musical selections from many decades underscore our blended approach to music, with majestic hymns set alongside contemporary favorites using fresh, inspiring orchestrations. Dramas, multimedia, Scripture reading, and musical specials round out the opening segment of the service and are followed by a relevant, biblical message from our Senior Pastor or another member of our preaching team. Services run about an hour and ten minutes in length.
Sunday A.M.: Safe and Sound Nursery is provided for both Sunday School and the morning service for infants through age 3. For children ages 4 through 6th grade, Launchpad Kids provides an upbeat, relevant teaching program including lesson time, crafts, activity centers, drama, and more. Our volunteer staff has been carefully trained and screened through background checks. With a low teacher to child ratio, Launchpad Kids is able to minister to your children through both the Sunday School and Worship Service. During the Worship Services, teens grades 7-12 are encouraged to sit with their parents or with the Student Ministry teens.
From jeans and t-shirts to suits and ties, a full range of fashion is represented every week at Lavon Drive. The Pastors will be in suits, but the average church member will be on the dressy side of business casual, though it’s hardly fair to say that’s the “norm.” Come as you are, and you will be welcomed. It is the Lord who said, “Man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”
