Join us for Winter Camp, March 12-17, 2023

Discover the annual tradition that brings people back year after year, where lives are refreshed, families are strengthened and memories are made. It is a week you’ll never forget! Families from Lavon Drive Baptist Church and Garland Christian Academy have been going to Winter Camp for decades for mental, physical, and spiritual renewal! Come find out for yourself what the excitement is all about.

How Does it Work?
Winter Camp is a family camp for folks at all ages and stages of life.  Everyone travels at their own pace to get to Buena Vista, Colorado by mid-afternoon on the first day of Camp. Most leave on Saturday and caravan with another family or two, spending the night in Raton, NM where we have a group rate secured at an area hotel.  The daily format of Winter Camp is open-ended, with each family free to spend their time as they please until everyone comes back together for supper and worship every evening. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided by Spring Canyon’s renowned Executive Chef, Rory Gillett.  You do NOT eat “camp food” at Winter Camp.  The dining experience is exquisite, with locally-sourced produce, flavorful recipes, and tremendous variety. Food allergies can be accommodated with notice.

Many families take a few daytime adventures away from camp for skiing, snowmobiling, hitting the hot springs, or sightseeing at the many beautiful destinations within a short distance of Spring Canyon.  But they’ll also usually plan on staying on property for some of their time, relaxing, fishing, playing games, and enjoying the opportunity to just “do nothing” in one of the most beautiful places on earth. It’s really up to you!  Some people park their car at the beginning of Camp and next pull out until we head home, and others are out and about every day.
