Pastor Cole delivers a New Year's Eve message from the Come Thou Long Expected Jesus series. This message is a continuation of Luke chapter 2, specifically verses 21-35. This story speaks to the blessing of Jesus by Simeon in the temple, a person that we do not know much about. However, this does show us that Simeon was not satisfied with just knowing the Messiah was coming, he longed for the day when we would lay his eyes on him. His message for us this new year is to remember that you can't be neutral when it comes to Jesus and the Gospel. Jesus requires that you make a choice. Simeon knew that for some, Jesus would be their rock, but for others, He will be a rock that they stumble over.
