What if the discomfort is the point? We live in an age of instant gratification. Our culture is obsessed with “now”—comfort, pleasure, ease. Churches sometimes reflect that—sermons focused on “your best life now,” self-help, and convenience. But the Bible lifts our eyes higher and further. We spend a lot of time trying to make our life “comfortable” when really, the Bible speaks a different idea altogether.
